Default Where can I get a 98 PCM ???

I have a 98 Z28 and apparently one of my pins has corroded on my PCM. I found this out after sending it out for a mail order tune. My tuner said he will try to repair the corroded pin, but he is not sure if that can be done because it needs a new pin. So I guess I have 2 questions then.

1) Can a new pin be put on a PCM?

2) Where can I buy a 98 PCM at a reasonable price?

Thanks.

If you mean the 1220411 LS1 ECM,a buddy of mine on another site has a group buy on them.
We're retrofitting our 96-99 vortec's for the 0411 ECM,I think the group buy is 100$+shipping.
If you interested pm/email or message me on yahoo@playtoy_18 and I'll give you his name/number

Yes you can repin a pcm, that's all we're doing.
If you want to add a pin that is unused on your ECM then depending on the function you might need it activated/switched on in the ECM,we do it with our AUX fan's.

I am not sure what the part# is at this time. I just know it is the factory 98 LS1 PCM. I was told by my tuner that the pin that is corroded and needs replacement. He said that it is the main 12V pin that connects to the blue wiring harness. Hopefully that pin can be replaced. What do you guys think? Thanks.

I have found plenty of '97-'98 or '99+ PCMs for sale here on LS1Tech and on eBay, try looking around. The cost will range from as low as $45 to about $100 for used pieces.

This is the part# for your PCM 16238212. If no one can help you get one let me know (via PM) my family owns a salvage yard, that's what I do.

You don't need an ECM,just replace the pin.
Go to the dealer and tell them you need a harness pin for the ECM.It will take about five minute's to repin the one wire, get a couple extra pin's just in case you mess up one.Just be careful and don't mess up the connector.

You guys misunderstood him.

The pin IN THE PCM is what is corroded, not the pin in the harness itself.
It is the main 12v power.

He doesnt need to repin the Harness to make it fit a different type of pcm. All he needs is another computer.

And playtoy, We have those 0411 pcms for 75 shipped. Everyday all day. No Group sales needed.

Good price on those, that's a one year (98) only PCM. What's the warranty?

No, 99 up will but 98's are all by themselves. They even pin-out different. That's why a person with a 98 has to make changes to their wiring harness to run a newer PCM but a person with a 99 up can just upgrade their OS to the 01 up.

Well my tuner came through BIG TIME for me. He went WAY out of his way to rework my PCM and replace the corroded pin. Apparently it took a few hours to get it back to a working state. To top it off, he didn't even charge me to do this. He is definitely the man for mail order tunes. Thanks Jesse!!!
