Default 2-3 shift stutter

Ok guys, last time I took the car to the track I encountered or maybe just finally noticed that after the trans got hot it started to stutter on the 2-3 shift, a little bit of a delay which really hurt my ETs. I'm thinking this could just be slightly low trans fluid but why then only when it gets hot? Does the fluid thin out when it gets hot or something?

The car is long overdue for a full fluid flush which I am planning to do in the spring. But it seemed like the trans fluid level was fine when I left for the track and by the time it got hot (4th or 5th pass) the dipstick was reading somewhat low

Fluid does thin some when very hot and leakage betwwen seals and rings particulalry at higher milage does increase. How many miles are on the trans ?

95,000, I think it does leak a little bit because it had started slipping when turning quickly and punching the gas and when I checked the fluid level it was almost 2 quarts low (hope it didnt hurt anything!) but I though I had it filled back up properly. Perhaps it is still a little low or it just thinned out enough when it got hotter.

But it does make sense that slightly low fluid level would cause a stutter in the 2-3 shift?
