nice i remember when those came out at the dealership they made one for everyyear that the camaro has been out with hp ranging from 360 to 425 i believe all with the tt2 rims. I live like 15 minutes from the Berger Chevrolet dealership. So I did get to see them all before they were sold off.

Overrated. No SS hood or spoiler? It's got a lid and catback, that's it. Probably not even any special tuning.

Berger Chevrolet sold the HOT ROD Magazine Edition Camaros from the dealership as Phase I ( 14 auto 360 h.p. and 22 6 spd. 380 h.p. ) additionally
2 red prototypes were devlived by GMMG to Petersen Publishing...HOT ROD Magazine. in Calf..
The beauty of a GMMG vehicle is that you can take them back to Matt Murphy
and you can upgrade your car.
My HOT ROD was upgraded to a Phase IIX 475 H.P. / A4 3.73 gears.
At that time we also added a SS hood and spoiler.........sweet!!
A few have been upgraded to Phase III 427 c.i. and 600 H.P. additionally
one delivered to Norway has been upgraded to a Phase V 454 c.i. at nearly
700 h.p.
So yes they are awesome vehicles and your wallet is all that is necessary
to make your dreams come true !!

Im down with this guy, why wouldnt they put atleast a hood on it. It looks like any other red camaro with the exception of the hockey stripes. And only 380HP i would definatly pass.

U say u would pass now but think what it would be worth if u were a collector 30 years from now. Look at Yenko 1st gen camaro's. Average price around 100,000. Now thats an investment

I lived in Kentwood, always went down there to see the new Camaros and Trans Am when they came out with the new style in '98. Was like a little kid again :jest:

I doubt it. This car is only selling for 21k. If you think this car is going to be worth anything around 100k that means that the Dick Harrel Camaros will be worth like 500k+ cuz those sell for 100k brand new.

Pretty big stretch to compare the first gen Yenkos, which were basically race cars, to a standard Z28 with a lid & catback and some stickers.

Yep. They've still got a brand new red Dick Harrell wide body. So, so, sweet.
EDIT: Make that four.

Hey what do we know....
The yenkos copos, zl1s and other hi po stuff wasnt worth crap in the 70s, and early 80s, and hardly noone ever thought they would be worth anything even in the future, now theyre bringing several hundred thousand $..
So lets just say, if you like it buy it, and if the other guys thinks it is a lid, and some stickers, well your entitled to think whatever youd like..

Somebody got a good deal. 21K for a 38K car new. They're more than just a lid, catback and stickers. They have red leather inserts, lowering springs, dimpled rotors, Hot Rod badging and embroidered seats, silver gauge face, computer tune and dyno sheet, temp/compass rearview mirror, power antenna. I'm sure there's a few more things I'm forgetting. I live 20 miles from Berger and am in the West Michigan Camaro Club which is sponsored by Berger. Got to see lots of cool stuff like the presentation of the last saleable Camaro and the ZL1 presentation being the most notable.
Shhhhiiit, if I got the money, I'd be all over it.

They were 360HP for the autos, 380 for the 6 speeds, Phase II was 435HP, and there are a couple with the C5R 427 600HP motor, including Matt Berger's wife's car which is an auto with the C5R motor. They weren't TT2 rims, they were the new Cragar's in chrome. Matt's wife's car has the Fiske FM10's on it. There's 3 Hot Rods that I see all the time since they are club member's cars.
OH...if I wasn't on freaking dialup I'd post up the pictures I have!

My buddy paid if I recall $25-$26k for his 02 Berger Hot Rod car with something like 1200 miles on the clock. The car had never been titled when he purchased it from Berger 2 years ago he ended up getting a 3/36k warranty from the date he purchased it :)
Are they worth the money well that depends on the buyer? What you get is a fully documented car, with performance, quality upgrades, and a limited number of cars. I would have no problem spending the money on this car or any other GMMG car. It seems all that have purchased GMMG cars feel the same as they all spent the $$$ to own one.
When the 5th Gen comes out I can tell you I will be purchasing a car that has been sent to GMMG (either a Tom Henry Car, or a Berger car).
Below are a few pics of my friend’s 2002 Berger Hot Rod car.
