Default Rebuilding LS1...

hey guys im going to be rebuilding my first LS1 soon and was wondering if there is a rebuild kit available somewhere? i really just need the gaskets.

im probably going to throw in a 224 cam of some sort, what springs will i need to use with this cam? this WILL be a daily driver for the most part.

Thunder Racing OR GMPartsdirect have good pricing on OEM gaskets and seals etc.

There are gasket kits available, but no full rebuild kit as far as I know. Like they said, SDPC should have what you need.

questions. why are you rebuilding it? if it runs fine and has under 250,000 miles on it you shouldnt touch it.

when you rebuild it, you really only need the oil pan and all the cover gaskets, mls gaskets and thats pretty much it. i ended up spending 140 on all my gaskets, which is a lot cheaper than the gasket kits you get elsewhere.

im rebuilding it because it hasnt ran since 1998 and because i need something to do in my engine rebuilding class... and becuase im putting it in my V6 firebird
