Default Clear plate cover

Anyone know where to buy the clear license plate covers for the 1998-2002 T/A's?

you better check on your laws. here in California its about a $500 ticket to have any cover on the license plate whatsoever. Most the time here theyll give you a fix it ticket but this one cop was a dick and gave me a ticket for it. Totally not worth it if this law is in your state!

I had clear blue covers on my plates on my 1991 Camaro. Around here, they don't much care as long as you have the plate on and your plate covers aren't smoked.

Indeed. Can't even have the license plate behind the windshield.

Needs to be securely attatched to the very front of the vehicle. Simply having it visible from standing infront doesnt count here. Besides, you cant even read it from our dashes, it practically lays horizontally towards the sky

You'd think they would let us get away with it since we can only have 70% tint and no long tubes. Now I must live with a ugly license plate on my beautiful f-body.

I got the ticket on my 95 Firebird, not my TA. So I had to go out and purchase a license plate holder + pay the fine. Then I sold the car a week later.

K, think I got a bit there.

Who told you 70%? Technically youre not allowed anything on the front side windows at all in this state.

CAVC 26708. (a)(2) No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied in or upon the vehicle which obstructs or reduces the driver's clear view through the windshield or side windows.

Bummer about the plate though, I've had a cover on my plate for a year and a half but I never get any hassels. Knock on wood.

http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/CA/ - Seems they are incorrect though, and you are right (not like I would waste money on getting 70% anyways).

I take my statement back. I found CAVC 26708(d)(1): notwithstanding CAVC 26708(a), The material has a minimum visible light transmittance of 88 percent. So your website was only half wrong!

as long as they have a CARB # they should be fine. The only catch is that no long tube headers carry a CARB # that I know of.

They are not that bad. I thought I would never put one on either. Went several years without one. Then I got an $80 ticket
