Question how much beating on the fenders will i have to do...

going with the ZR-1's i think and they are going to be 17x11 in the back. i also wanna get my car lowered a little bit how much beating and banging will i have to do to make them fit correctly?

No thats not it, depends on the tires you have. Nittos or Sumitomos you wouln't really have to do anything. BFG's or Goodyears, you'd have to beat the fender wells and roll the fenders

All F-body's seem to be a little different when it comes to tire fitment.

Some say that they bolted up 315's without ever having to lift up a hammer. Others are under there swinging away for hours just to get the same wheels/tires to fit... it's a crap shoot!

Regardless, you can make any 11" wide 315 series tire fit on our cars. Get an adjustable panhard bar, roll the fender lip (should be done whether it needs it or not), and then clearance with a hammer as needed.
