Default How do i check tranny line pressure?!?

I have a 94 4l60e and was just wandering if i have too much or too little line pressure, since either is no good for trannys. so how would i go about checking the pressure? can i use the port that is plugged on left side of tranny? or do i have to get a tuner program to look at it? im kinda in the dark here and would like some light on the matter. i have turned the pcs torks screw a qtr of a turn and added a b&m shift kit. it shifts great . but was running a mustang on the highway last night and when the tranny was shifting to fourth it bumped the rev limiter and kinda had a delayed shift.

The most acurate way to check it is to use a guage in the port on side of trans,
onn the wot 4th shift what servo do you have for 4th gear

I agree with this. They are great for testing new products as well. It's nice to know when they leave the shop their ready to go. Also we ship alot of stuff over sea's and would never think of making sales over there without it.

lt170chevelle it sounds like you might want to lower your 3-4 shift points.

273 SHIFT TO 4TH you are a brave man thats very fast , I would definatley upgrade the OD servo to the sonax super hold its only a few minutes to install and well worth it when that shift happened JUST WHAT DID THE SPEEDO SAY?

You will need to do some tuning via the computer.

to check the pressure you only need the guage, now if you want to change it then you will have to have a tuner of some sort

something funny is when i had 2.73's in my car when i pretty much first bought it and knew nothing about cars really at all i thought it was cool how fast my car could go. i had went to a speed shop and told them that i just wanted to go faster so thats basically what he did was just a set of basic ported stock 98 heads and a basic 224 cam the car would shift into 3rd gear at about 80ish mph. it was kind of insane.
