Well my 97 C5 has about 70k on it now. Just lately when I get on it, as soon as I reach the upper Rpms I hear a metal (lose change) like sound from my shifter area. It also happens between hard shifts. but normal driving there are no issures. The car drives fine and the clutch grabs good and all.
So now I am thinking I have a Throw out bearing starting to go. Can I just Drop my toqure tube to change it out?
Or any other Ideas on what it might be?

Well now I am getting a vibration in my shifter that is very noticable. I am afarid I may have some issuses now :( If I am lucky maybe its just a clutch or something but who knows. I am gonna take a look underneath and check some stuff out, but I dont really have all the time in the world to fix it, So it looks like it will be going to a shop.. As long as they dont charge me an arm and a leg.

Could be H pipe. There is a baffel / diverter in the exhaust pipe that comes loose and rattles like loose change. It's located below the shifter area. Only on factory exhaust. Good luck Tim

Hmmm thanks for the Idea. I am going to try to look under the car tomorrow. I just wonder if that could cause a vibration though? I hope its something simple.

From what you describe, it kind of sounds like spark knock.

Make sure you check the 2 small brackets that connect the factory cats. These are really bad about cracking and just need to be re-welded. Many C5's I have worked had that annoying noise. Quick weld job and it's all gone.
The vibration in the shifter maybe the factory clutch going bad. ie- Broken spring in the pressure plate or something. I would say get the small brackets on the cats re-welded and then drive it till the clutch won't work anymore.
