Street Racing & Kill Stories - Embarrased a Mustang in a 05 Grand Prix

So my beater lost its breaks so I asked my mom if I could have her Grand Prix for the night(Yes in Erie PA we have to put the TA away for a few months). As I was jumping on I79 I saw a Blue Mustang GT, about a 00-03 weaving in and out behind me and was like oh god he is going to try to past everyone and be a dick. Well not me, not today, not in my moms FUSION ORANGE GRAND PRIX GT. Now this car isnt that bad, and not at all after I punched it at about 45 and I saw this kid jump on the mustang, so we were going around this long curve onto a straight away and I was balls to the wall and so was he, we got up to about 120 ....But for some ungodly reason he wasnt catching me, he was staying even the whole time behind me in the right lane. So he never caught me until we both got off at the same exit, and I made sure he would be right next to me at the light. I rolled down my window and he goes what the fu*k do you have in that, Honestly I laughed and said....... STOCK, and it looks like you better start modding up your car buddy. No joke next thing I know he turns into the Ford dealership lot. I bet he wanted to trade it in for an Escort. :judge: I know its not the best story but I thought it was funny as hell cause it was my moms car. Have a good day! :)

It is the S/C'd GT I am not surprsed. Power and weight are very similar.

he should have still beat you. your 05 weighs more than the previous year. i had an 04 GP GT and a 05 GXP. and i raped GTPs all day. then again i raped mustang GTs also. but a stang GT 04 and down should beat a GTP by a couple tenths atleast. they are lighter than a GP. and will easily beat a SC/ed GP from a roll. but good kill. the S/Ced GPs are more competition for the mustang GT than most of them realize. a CAI/DHP pcm and a smaller pulley and your wooping stock stang GTs like nobodys business.

I take that back, its a 04 Grand Prix, I asked my dad today what year it was, I knew it was a 04 or 05. Its not supercharged, but I cant believe the power it actually has. The only thing is that when it gets up around 100 it seems like it takes forever to get to 120. I just thought it was funny as hell yesterday when I gave that kid a run for his money. Just because he was driving cocky, and the stang guys up here think there shit doesnt stink. I have to get rid of my daily driver/winter ride, so I think after yesterday Im going to look into a Grand Prix or Monte Carlo. Love the good ole GM smack down.

dont fool yourself you will not hang with a normal mustang GT even with the SCed models. it will be closer and off the line you will be side by side but in the 1/4 the stang GT will run a good 3-4 tenths quicker on average it was either a fake mustang gt or he was playing with you sorry to burst your bubble. but who knows heh. if you do get a grand prix. get a used 04/05 base model and for 3k you can get the car-tuning turbo kit and be a 12 sec car right off.

Dude I dont care about any numbers on either car, I just thought it was funny this Mustang was having trouble with me in a Grand Prix. We werent at a stop we went from a 45 roll and he was behind me. He never passed me or gained on me, we were the same distance the whole time. Its funny and honestly your not bursting my buble, and dont say that to me, cause I could give 2 you know whats about this whole race, and it was a GT cause I dont think a 6 sounds like a 4.6 Ferd. Trust me he wasnt toying either, cause he had 3 lanes to pass me with no one around. Im not being a jerk, I just wanted to post up a good mustang laugh. I dont want to fool you like I took this race serious as a heart attack. I miss my WS6 and thats all I care about when it comes to statistics. I do like the GP and I bet some guys do have some fast ones, Im just happy with yesterday! :P But thanks for your imput, I do like to see other numbers once in a while on other cars. I thought the F Buddys and Vette boys would get a kick out of a winter daily driver race. Cheers :chug:

Yeah but why would he act so pissy at the next light and ask what was in it if he wasnt trying or cared. Your right about its always good for mustangs to be killed :) . The only other thing I can say is that maybe the car was having some tuning problems, cause I know what a 6 and 8 sound like on a stang. But hey it was hallarious!

I owned a Pontiac Bonneville SSCI and I can say that I have beat up on a few Mustang GT's from all years (except the 05 and newer models). Those cars are surprisingly quick for their size and have decent acceleration all around whether it be from a roll or a dig
