Default Just curious.

Why do Camaro's have a SES light and a Service Vehicle light? What's the difference in them?

The SES is an engine management indication that can affect emissions and engine performance, while the service vehicle is used for things like low coolant or other non-engine issues that involve the car.

Yeah I know what the SES light does, just didn't know what the service vehicle light did. Now I know... Thanks guys.

Like earlier today I was talking to my sister and told her about my car. She said, oh it's your alternator. I told her it wasn't. That the alternator wouldn't set off the SES light. She said that I didn't know that. So I explained to her the function of the SES light.

SES = engine management problem
SVS = needs oil change. Light(counter) must be reset after changing the oil
I don't have my owner manual in front of me but I believe the SVS reset procedure is as follows.
1. CAR not running, key off
2. Push down, and hold down trip odometer reset button.
3. Turn key to on position( dash light on, don't start engine) while holding down trip reset botton.
4. Hold down util SVS light starts flashing. May take a minute or two to start flashing.
5. Release button. Turn key off. Start car, light should be now be off after bulb check.
