why is my coolant light on?

Default why is my coolant light on?

Me and my dad have a 2000 trans-am we have had the car for about six months we have filled the radiator with water and coolant and we have even jack the front up with the car running to get out any air but what the hell is up

your coolant sensor could also be bad. it's a common problem

And the cheap $0.00 way to fix it is to just unplug the sensor.
It is on the middle right passenger side of the radiator.

Replacement sensor is about $55...I have done mine three times!

Or just take it out and clean the sensor part of it. They get a build up on them.

My low coolant light stayed on for several days after my head & cam swap. (Mine's a '99 C5, but assuming the GM sensors are the same or similar.) It seemed like the sensor just got "stuck" but it cured itself after driving around for a few days. Hopefully it works out the same for you.

Just unplug the thing. No light. And your done.

Only 98 and 99s have the coolant sensor in the radiator. 00-02s don't have it.

Coolant sensor light came on because of a bad sensor in my car. Just unplugged it like everyone else says and I check it from time to time. You'll basically know when you get low coolant when your engine temp gets high.

my 99 had a sensor failure! just unplugged and kept an eye on temp..its always good to anyways

yea ima try taken the sensor lose i havent had time to do it i work the b shift at bmw so i sleep all day
