Default pushrods bend..alot.

so finally tore into it and damn did I bend some stuff! i think 5 bent pushrods? so new valvetrain pretty much went ahead and went with the dart 205cc heads all manley goodies, comp lifters and harlan rocker arms.

also just bought the FAST intake and tb from texas speed...good stuff. cam swap will come after the heads...so for now it'll just be a heads car so im interested to see how that will be...any ideas on power #'s with just heads, trueduals, LT's and intake/tb? going with the torquer2 cam i think...not sure on pvc issues?

in the future ford 9" and BMR susp.

After a tune maybe 30 rwhp for the head swap. The stock cam would REALLY hold you back. If you're getting aftermarket assembled heads along with all the valvetrain upgrades all you need to buy is the cam itself. Doesn't make sense to tear everthing apart for a head swap, upgrade the valvetrain, and not pop a cam in there. I'd save a few more bucks until you can get one and do it all at once, as well as get it tuned all at once. For what it's worth I would've bought the cam before the FAST setup, those heads are going to need more cam alot more than more intake.

Sounds like a good choice. A cam will not only provide the power gains in and of itself, it will also increase the power gains from your headers, heads and FAST setup. With all that good stuff bolted in I wouldn't be surprised if you're around 430-440 rwhp with the Darts with some nice power down low.

the shop thats doing the work doesnt recommend going with a "big" cam and I guess he sees the torquer cam as big...i thought it was a med. sized decent cam for the application, I'll talk to the guy more and see whats up. what other stuff do I need in support of the cam?

injectors?

it's medium-big, but a lot of people use that cam.

make sure your springs are up to the task of the cam.. you're swapping lifters, that's good.. maybe a new oil pump while you're in there.. you really won't know about the injectors til it gets tuned.. over 90% duty cycle and you may want to consider it.. but if the AF stays in the safe range, you could probably hold off. Injectors are a pretty easy swap.

A fast 90 intake without porting the intake is a waste of money..it will not make much of a HP gain in its stock configuration..get it ported..
