For a stock car they aren't too bad. They sound nice IMO. But once you start modifying, you will want something that flows a little better.

I think the opinion of Flowmaster is a little misconceived....it's not a bad product at all. The Flowmaster 80 Series muffler for the f-bodies doesn't flow as well as some of the other mufflers...that's all. Flowmaster has a lot of other really good products. Several guys with dual exhausts love their single chamber mufflers.

I have the same deal. " It came on my car" to be honest with you i think it sounds really really good down low to mid range. Its some what loud. Notice "some what" Since i dont have alot of money to mod with i am gonna keep it around for a while.

the flowmaster 80 series came on my 99 SS when i bought it. some days i like the sound a lot and some days not so much. its a H/C car so it always has that muscle car sound, but some days it just sounds different. its probably just in my head haha. anyways after the holidays im going to get true duals with and H-pipe and single chamber flowmaster mufflers.

They do sound good on stock cars. The drone was to much to take with headers though.... Its not that they flow bad, there is just other kinds that flow better. I also don't really care for aluminized exhaust parts. My 80 Series was pretty corroded when I retired it.

The 80 series isn't that great. The others are fine, especially the one chambers.

I used the 80 Series and it was not that great. It flowed like crap and the only good thing about it was the sound. Once the cam and headers were added, the 80 Series sounded like a tin can.

I cant comment on flowmaster on a f-body but I had a 40 series catback on my old 94 mustang and it sounded great, good quality to, nice tips. Of corse in the mustang world flows are very popular.

what about those dyno numbers a while back that showed flowmasters losing hp over the stock catback?

Cool

LT's + ORY + QTEC + Flowmaster 80 Series here and I like the sound just fine..giving up 3-5 HP is no big deal to me to get that Older-School sound.
