Default oil drain into oil pan right underneath timing cover

i know someone on here has this picture, their oil return is in that thin part of the oil pan right underneath the timing cover. im doing it that way so i really need to see that picture!

also will my oil drain freely if i have a straight fitting coming out of it and it goes straight to the turbo up where the battery is??

last question, is it a MYTH that the oil pan can come off with the engine still in the car, i jacked the engine up by the crank pulley and it still didnt look like it gave me enough room

Here is a link to a camaro that has the drain like you want. www.calibercustoms.com
If you put grease all over the drill bit and tap you will have really no metal chips in the pan. The grease collects the shavings. Also the hole will be big enough to look in and get any that do go in. Just take your time and drill slowly.
Yours should drain fine just use no smaller of a line than -10. But there is still no guarantee I will drain enough. If it does not work than run a scavenge pump.

Getting that oil pan off with the engine in the car is a pain, but it can be done. You have to jack up the motor and drop the k-member about an 1-1.5 inches. Do a search on rod bolt installs and you can see how people have managed.

We welded in a -6 bung into the pan over by the driver side motor mount to have a oil return for a customers STS. Works alot better then a flimsy oil cap.

Why not just pull off the timming cover and put your fitting there? Is the turbo to low for oil drain back with the fitting that high?

Same place the Vortech kits have you place their return line and it was about an -8 or -10 in size.

I thought the return was supposed to be higher than the oil level?
