I recently traded a member on here for all of my t56 stuff for his th400 stuff. His trans is a TCI and im putting a t brake valve body in it.The trans looks great but this is the converter he has with it but with a LS1 input. What are my chances with this thing???

haha i know thats why i ask. There are actually some brands that are way cheaper on ebay.lol.I dont know how long he used it but he "says it worked great"but ya never know.He had a N/A car also.Id really rather not have to buy a converter but if Ive got no chance with this thing I will have to.Im not sure how much he paid for it either. This is just one I found with a similar stall.

I'd get a TCI for it. TCI may not have the best reputation with their lock up converters but the non lock ups are fine. I've been running a streetfighter with my rmvb th400 in my '75 nova for 4 years now. Is been well into the 11's.
It will cruise pretty strong at 2000 rpm and flash up to stall speed perfect.

I don't know about that converter but, I did buy a $200. 500HP CONVERTER ON e-BAY and had it in my stock motor and a fresh rebuilt tranny about 2years ago.
needless to say it lasted 2000miles and I started hearing noise's and found out my torque converter took a ShXT and left all kinds of metal shavings in my tranny and I had to get it overhauled again.

why people buy unknown converters just to save a few dollars is beyond me. th400/350 converters are cheap. go with a known brand like TCI, PI, TCT, etc

Edge racing was west cost converters, but changed their name about 10 years ago and has been around for something like 30 years, just because something is good at advertising doesn't mean its good stuff I've had two B&M converters and hated them both

**** that dude, I can understand trying to save a few bucks but I wouldn't want to risk my trans over it. I wish small companies like that could be trusted, but unfortunately you never know what your getting. But good luck to anybody that gets them.

I'll let everyone know what its like when i get it in the car... and I am not too worried about my transmission being fucked up by my converter, I bought the TH350 for $35 and rebuilt it myself (only have $250 in the trans) its lasted 2 years and 50+ passes down the track and the fluid still looks like new

YANK! Thats what all the Ls1 boys are using over here for their rides, and they are moving out. All they did was call yank, and they told them exactly what they need, converter wise.

You suck changing it from the 6spd to an Auto!
