have a few questions hopefully u can help, after selling my 98 SS m6 to my brother he blew a rod after the 2 months and the car had been sitting around for a few months until last week when we bought a used 01 LS1 with 25 K miles and my dads friend is going to be swapping the motors, I know that the 01's dont have an egr system and have the LS6 manifold, what will I need to do for the swap to pass smog? are there anything else I should be aware about to help my dad 's friend with the swap?

You can get the egr deleted with a tune or keep the LS1 intake of the 98 engine. I'd stay with the LS6 intake and get the egr deleted.

I don't see why you wouldn't considering you now have an engine that wasn't originally equipped with it.
