What they are talking about, requires cutting the underside of your hood. Not my cup of tea. Without a proper seal, it just isn't effective.

This is the "Free Ram Air" most fbody owners will do. http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...am_air_mod.htm
It allows fresh cooler air into the motor.

the baffles are there for a reason dont cut them out

they smooth out the airflow

plus itll look like crud and take out some of the structural rigidity if you alter the hood itself

There is nothing wrong with removing the baffles on your hood. It won't hurt the structural integrity of it, it's not there to straighten the airflow, and it won't look bad. I took them out on both of the cars I had. Here's how:

Pop the hood and right where the hoodlatch is you will see some rivets. Drill all of them out. Now reach inside the hood and pull out the baffling. They're also glued in there, and them things can be a pain, some decent force may be necassary to get them out.

The only potential down side to this is if you drive in heavy rain. I have got caught out a few times and it wasn't a problem.

I took some thin black plastic and cut it the same shape as the honeycomb inserts. I keep them in the glovebox and if I ever get caught out in a heavy downpour with a great distance to drive, I can put them in there behind the inserts to keep all the rain out.

that looks like a waste of time. i wouldnt do it. if you have a ramair car just remove the baffles out of the hood. that will let more air ram into your motor.

Yeah, but it's not gonna do much really. I never noticed a difference, but I feel better about it anyway They say sealing the hood to the front of the airbox is the best way to get a gain, makes sense. One day I'll fab something up.

That's what he was asking about, and what I was talking about, removing the baffles out of the hood.
