Default need help, im at the next step..

ok, ive got all my bolt ons done and im getting a stall next paycheck but this is where i dont want to mess up. im thinking like a 3000-3500 stall (cooler of course), trak or ms4 cam ( i want some with a nasty idle ) and the cam essentials..(pulley, oil pump, pushrods, valvesprings, etc.) does this setup sound good for a weekend warrior/street-strip car? eventually i might get some 5.3L or some 243 casting heads and throw them on instead of those shitty 98's...i dont have money for ported/polished but almost anything will outflow those 98's...

Well the bigger the cam, the larger the stall. With a TRaK Cam or MS4 i'd get a 4K stall(maybe a 4000 with a 2.0,2.2 STR), some nice 3.73's,Drag radials, and a set a depends. Your going to want to match your stall and cam, when i was auto i used a 3500 on a bolt on car and loved it. She still is a DD. With a large cam, just be ready to spin her to 6800RPM.(Stock 4L60E's don't seem to like the high rpm FYI) Stalled car's always put down good times...

everything your buying seems about right when your doing the cam change. i would also recomment changing the seals on the timing chain cover and also getting a new timing chain if you have the extra money, not to mention the rear main seal on the motor. the new rear main seals are really easy to put in in comparison to the old ones. I think either one of those cams really work, i ve only seen them in m6 but hopefully a4 with these cams will chip in and help.. good luck .

yea i forgot the timing chain, i had already planned on getting the ls2 chain...i was trying to say away from 7k shifts which is the only reason im not going trex. would it be better to get a t56 swap going instead of the money for a built a4+stall, that way i could do what i really wanted (a trex)? i know that stock v6 rear end wont last either so thats in the future as well...

well. t56 break alot less ive seen my friends go through countless of a4, th350's but m6 last way longer.. but in the end if your going to want really good track results you better of just changin into the th350 or better yet the th400..
