Default noob turbo question

I'm starting to do some research on turbo selection, but have a few questions.

when you read something like "T-76" does the 76 refer to the turbine wheel diameter, trim, or exhause wheel?

also, for garrett turbos, does "large frame" denote a t4 or t6 housing?

Large frame is T6.

Typically T76 would mean 76mm inducer on the compressor.

As for the rest, check the FAQ post at the top of this board.

As far as large frame and the designation, it depends on the manufacturer. Check with the turbo manufacturer for specifics or give Dr. Turbo or myself a call.
