Default stock LS6 heads vs Ported LS6 heads

OK guys I need your help deciding.I want to build a strong street car not a 1/4 mile race car with good low and mid range pull.I have the LT headers and SLP lid.I want to get a cam and heads.I need help deciding on which heads to get.I saw that Patriot has the special on the stock 243 bare for 350,stock valves for 20 and the gold spring kit for 220 I think it was. This sounds good to me.What is your thoughts. Is there anyone running the stock 243,cam,Lt and air lid.Would like to here from you. What is the difference between the ported and none ported as far as hp and torq.curve goes.I think the stock 243's would make a better street head because of the smaller runners IMO.I would like to target the 425 rwhp range is this posible?
Thanks

Do you have torque numbers or a graph? Also, any specs on your cam? I too am very tempted by the Patriot special going on.

Don't buy all that small runner bullshit.... I went from the stock Ls6 heads on my Z06 to the TSP ported 243's. I picked up power in every part of the rpm band. went from 410rwhp to 435rwhp with no other additions besides the heads. Then added 15rwhp with a Fast 90/90 to get 450rwhp....

Buy a set of ported stage 2 heads with 2.02 and 1.6 valves, you cannot go wrong. You will be happy with the results both on the street and if you want to bring it to the track. I am just about finished porting a set of 243 heads and they are going to be wicked. From 400 to 650 they increase from 250cfm's to 320 cfm's and the exhaust is just as wicked. Good luck!

Yes you are correct. I have a head cold and my brain is on leave........lol. I can send some pictures if you like. I've been porting for awhile and the 243 casting are easy to work on. Looks like you have a nice job on your LT1 heads. LT1 heads will never flow as well as LS6 heads. The angles, design and wall thickness are not the same.
