Ok in a 2001 camaro ss 6 speed, what is the advantage of putting a 4.10 rearend in??? The only mods are a slp intake and flowmaster exhaust (getting replaced with magna flow, just doesn't sound good), the next mods are going to be headers and a new cam in the spring.

I felt a nice difference going from 3.42 to 4.10, i reccomend it

the advantage is the torque multiplication...your car will accelerate easier. you will also be able to use 6th gear more and you should see no difference in fuel economy if you keep your foot out of it. 4.10s are fun, but they are also a weaker gear compared to the 3.42s. depending on what cam you do, a gear swap may be necessary to make drivability better, since you lose some low end torque with some of the larger cams...it'll make the car much easier to drive around town.
