I don't know if this has been discussed before but has anyone remove their engine cover? The tech guy at GM said you can't remove it because it would spit oil or something. The cover on my 3.8L '99 Monte Carlo was easy to figure out how to remove but I looked at this one and I'm not sure how to take it off, assuming that it can be removed.

It can be removed, just like your older Monte Carlo. I took mine off right away.

While I love these LSx engines, they're just the most god awfull homely looking things with out the engine covers. Corvette has them, F-body's don't, W-body's do.

Gave up a while ago trying to find carbon fiber looking engine covers for the big-dog.

Here are some pics of the engine cover removed. It just takes a little lifting a tugging and it pops right off. There are 3 little posts with a ball like ends on them that retain the cover to the intake manifold. :thumb:
