Plus it loves to blow fuses. Plus it ruins the speakers. Yes this is in my car.

wow and there are so many topics on here that say runing 4 ohm at 2 ohm is ok.

No, the topics on here say that running a 4-ohm speaker in place of an original 2-ohm speaker is okay. That's true because the higher impedance reduces current (and volume) but doesn't cause any problems. The opposite is not true - you should never run 2-ohm speakers in place of original 4-ohm speakers unless you know that the amp is 2-ohm stable. Reducing the impedance increases the current flow and thus generates more heat which can seriously damage or destroy components.

like white bird said, going the other way will result in buring your voice coil. A speaker is really almost never "blown," it just gets a little melted where the wire coils up causing the Electromagnet to have a defect. the way you have is fine, but it could be louder and a little more cleaner with 2ohm speakers (however, maybe he stock speakers should have been 4ohm because mine keep on burning up).

Add to it Distortion increases Exponentialy when you start dropping resistance. So at 4ohm's, 0.001 THD becomes 0.01 THD at 2 ohms, 0.1 THD at 1 ohm.......etc etc.

Reality is probably 0.5 thd 4 ohms, and goes on from there.
