any idea? cam hassle
hay guys am runing dart 205cc heads on my ls1 a4 and i want to swap cam from
224-224 to g5x-3 ? and i was wondering if its a must or not to fly cut my pistons???
and so i was wondering if the cam performance will worth the hassle?
and by the way am runing125 dry shot nos on it .
so what am i expecting here to happend?

Louis @ LGM may have tested with some Dart's by now. You'll be close, but ok I think.
On the otherhand, it doesn't look like there is a converter in you mod list, and thats getting up there on duration for a stock stall. You should consider at least a 3200 stall for that cam.

Id say if your goin with a G5X3, or close to that size, it should be more like 3800-4200 stall size depending on how serious you were about drag racing. if it'll almost never see the track, the 3200 would be a great street conv. kind of best of both worlds. but you should cosider a stall madatory whichever speed you go with.
I havent seen if that cam fits those heads w/o flycutting. but, my cam is something like that and I just got done flycutting today. its really pretty easy. just gotta take a few steps to make sure its kept clean and consistent and its no problem. I rented the tool from LG and it works great. I took tons of pics of everything along the way and am planning on doin a write up soon as I get some time.
BTW, you should be checking to make SURE those valves have the proper clearance regardless if it "should" clear or not. trust me contact is the last thing you want.

yeah it took me about 3 weeks to finally get the flycutting tool to me but bobby made it happen finally. but he more then made up for it so Im still very happy with the company. is your car dissasembled and ready to go? Im sending the tool back prolly tuesday or wednessday maybe they'd prefer to send it right to you and avoid some shiping charges. only thing with that is they still have to reimburse me the core charge and not sure what issues they would have with that part cause I aint sending it to anyone w/o them reimbursing the core charge at that point. know what I mean? anyways good luck man.
