had my car tuned have a Q....
dont know if it really belongs here but i had my car tuned and dynoed on thursday....well after driving it home and driving it some today it runs great and all but i noticed that my fans come on at a lower temp. So i called the shop where i had it tuned and talked to them. They said that the fans where reset to come on at lower temps...i cant call the shop today cuz they are closed.
now my question is ...are they suppose to come off after they have been on for a while??i really didnt pay att. to that untill today ..i turned the car on let her warm up 10 minutes or so (fans are on) took her for a 5 minute drive came home left her on for about 10 more minutes...fans never went off..i can actually hear both of them onwhen at a stop or light...didnt before..

Ask them what they set the temps to - will cycle on/off depending on what they're set at. Guessing you're talking about the high speed fans since you're only noticing it now? Warm car and 5 min of driving, plus 10 min at idle doesn't get much natural air flow across the radiator to turn them off. Mine are set pretty low and have LEDs so can see them come on/cycle. This time of year rarely see high speed fans even in traffic (w/AC off). I also run a 160 tstat.

i did asked , he said something about 160 or so on the first and 210 on the second...?? the reason i notice them is because they are both on at the same time.....and its like 60 or so outside.

Yes the first one will stay on all the time with it set at around 160 because it is tring to cool the car down to 160, but the tstat is keeping the car at 190. I dont think it will hurt anything for a lil while, but it is working the fans and the charging system extra hard. I would get a 160 tstat as soon as you can or have your tuner change it back to stock.

i have a 160 thermostat, and my fans are set to come on at around 182 and the high fan on at 192 i think..
get a 160 thermostat and have them redo the fans.... its really stupid to try and run your car at 160 even with the lower t-stat... my car never sees above 190 unless i'm sittin in traffic and if it does its like 194 at most... trying to run the car at 160 degrees F honestly is really stupid... your gonna be running your fans everytime you come to a stop and everytime after you get on it

Hold on guys, you are on the right track as far as the fans bumping into the thermostat, but what is important is the fan's TURN OFF temp in relation to the thermostat. First, I personally would never go below a 180 deg therm, then the first fan could turn on at 192 and turn off at 185. The second fan could turn on at 198 and turn off at 190. I don't like both fans turning on or off at the same time and always keep above at least 5 deg turn off higher then the therm is rated at because they are not real accurate and change with age, no matter what therm you have, they are going to have to reprogram your fan on/off temps. Are these tuners very experianced? They should have asked what temp thermostat you have before programming the fans.

just what i was thinking....i took it to a performance shop (sponsors)...they did ask for all my mods ect...
does any one know the settings on the stock fans???
