Pedal Pressure with LS7 clutch/flywheel/PP
Just finished installing my LS7 clutch set up. Bolted the tranny back up and checked for pedal pressure and it is extremely firm. Almost to the point it would be annoying to drive daily with. Any clue whats wrong? I replaced the throwout bearing, but not the entire slave assembly. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Also, haven't had a chance to start it up and check for a release point...its a little late, and no exhaust on the car right this second (didnt want to ruin my friendship with the neighbors at 2AM.

I had the same type of problem with the SPEC 2 when I installed it. A few days of driving and it was back to regular feel. Next clutch up for me is the LS7/LS2 setup, I am just trying to figure out if it will hold 500-550 hp at the crank. Best of luck to you, that tranny drop is a major pain!

Hey i just installed the driveshaft, started the car and it wont go into gear with the car started. What am I doing wrong?
Also can anyone tell me if theres a shim or anything i might be missing on the throwout bearing? Clutch pedal is still extremely firm.

Took everything apart, clutch was in correctly, so its not that problem. I think its a slave clyinder issue, im gonna wait a little while for my friend Philip (NOSJNKY) to come over and see whats wrong.

You replaced the slave with the new clutch? It will take some time to bleed the full system, you can use a vac to make the process a little quicker. It sounds to me like the slave isn't getting the fluid to push down on the fingers of the clutch. It may be linked to the master if that is the case.

No, I did not replace the slave cylinder with the clutch...all I replaced was the throwout bearing, clutch disc, pressure plate, flywheel, and pilot bearing. I didn't even disconnect the slave cylinder from the master; I did not want to have to bleed it.
I've got some help coming over tomorrow, I hope we should be able to figure out whats wrong. I believe its an issue with the slave cylinder, simply because its really the only thing that would cause the clutch not to disengage.
Thanks for all the help guys! Any more is still greatly appreciated.

You managed to back the tranny off enough to replace the clutch without disconnecting the quick disconnect to the slave? That is impressive, but more than likely your problem lies with the slave. You can get a new slave and master cylinder for between $130-$160 with a little searching. Have you also already done the drill mod too, that is worth it when everything is out anyway.

It's not too difficult to get the slave off like that...just have a handy 10mm ratcheting wrench! Yeah, ive decided that im going to remove the slave and do the drill mod on the line. My friend is coming over in a few with his mighty vac and a few other items to help us figure out the problem. Thanks again for all the advice!

I think you should also replace the master at the same time. It seems that it is not keeping the fluid on the slave side to allow the throwout to complete it's job. The vac will help a lot, I am DEFINATELY installing the extension when I put in a new clutch!
