Default My Buildup thread 87 rx7/turbo 5.3/th400/8.8 etc

Well here are some shots of my new build the car is basically getting a complete do - over which includes complete new powertrain front to back soild diff/th400/turbo 5.3/full cage/diet/new gauges et



let me know what you think or if you have any questions etc


Motor:

04 5.3L 28000kms
317 6.0L heads with some home porting and 918 springs/ti retainers
ARP rod bolts
comp MONSTER 54-428-11 228/230 .571/.573
comp hardened 7.4 pushrods
ls1 car intake
ported tb
60lb motoron injectors (still need)




Pan tapped for -10an turbo oil return line



Truck water pump with rotated rad hose inlet and such



oil feed for turbo/oil pressure gauge sender






Fuel system:

Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump
Aeromotive 13101 Boost ref Reg
Stock fuel rails
aluminum fuel cell
-08an feed
-06an return







New gauges:

all electric auto meter ultra lites
water
oil pressure
fuel level(where one of the 2 water temps are in pic)
Volts
160mph Speedo





And now for the fun part

Power adder:

custom homebuilt turbo system
Turbonetics Ball bearing T76 turbo with .81a/r
Truck manifolds flipped and ported
2.5" cross over pipe
FMIC
Water meth
3.5" downpipe





Transmission:

Rebuilt Th400
TCI reverse manual valvebody
TCI 3800 rpm converter
B&M Deep cast aluminum pan


Differential:

Ford 8.8
31 spline spool
3.27 gears
moser axles
C clip eliminators
Disk brakes
Girdle

Suspension:

Front-stock with new struts/springs
no sway bar
Rear-Grannys solid axle conversion
New shocks and struts

Wheels/tires:

Weld Racing Pro stars
15x4 with 165r15 skinnys
15x8 with 26x10.50 slicks



Goals for 07 are : 10.50/135mph and 600rwhp -im not sure if i will touch any of those but im gonna damn well try


here is a cool photoshop my buddy had made of my car gives an idea how the new wheels will look except a bit smaller ahah

Would LOVE to see pics of the rear end setup... my buddy has an FC with an LS1 and we've been contemplating a 8.8

go onto www.engineswaps.com and scroll down to the 2nd gen conversion parts and its in there the solid diff kit

started working on the th400 yesterday got it cleaned up pulled out the bolt in yoke painted the case got the B&M deep aluminum pan for it and my converter /reverse pattern manual valve body are on order

FWIW, I mocked up truck manifolds with my Granny's kit before I pulled it apart to sell the whole thing. You will need to offset the motor over to the driver's side of the car. The header wouldn't go on without removing one of the flange studs, and even then making the turn out of there is going to be fun. An inch or so would probably do you right.

yep found that out last night im sure i can get around it no prob if not ill notch it a small amount for clearance and box it back in

well here is a few updated pics :box: ...... took 65lbs of wiring out and will put back in about 10-15 everything will work except the power antenna (never worked anyway) the vette covers will be modified.... and some mock up of the truck manifold turbo build .... 3.5" downpipe .... i think i will have all the hot parts coated when done im not sure yet :dontknow:
