Default Rod bolt bushing in rod cap??????

Installing some new ARP bolts in my rods and having alittle trouble. They're ARP 2000's in a 2000 LS1. The bushings are only about a 1/4" of the way in the bolt hole of the cap, but they are preventing my ARP's from seating all the way. Any one dealt with this before? Please don't just say remove bolt and reinstall new one. That's why I'm posting. I've heard about these before, but can't find it anymore. Any help greatly appreciated. The mighty LS1 is kicking my A$$. Thanks again.

did you remove the ferrules? pretty sure the ARP bolt can't go in with those in there. leaving the house atm, and don't have time to check, hope someone else chimes in about this. if not, I'll find out for sure in a few hours.

Really appreciate it man. Ferrules, that's what they were called. Hopefully someone will know. Thanks.

I found it easier to take the bolt all the way in the stick it in the wrong way and lightly tap the ferrules out.

Yea, the pulling on the bolt head thing didn't work for me either. Had to tap them out like you said to.
