Default Ugly supprise during LS6 intake swap..

So I went ahead and decided to swap my LS6 intake onto my T/A today, but once I removed the LS1 intake I was quite a bit supprised at what I saw.. oil everywhere! I don't mean a think black film which would be expected, I mean I saw ALOT of oil all over the intake ports and needless to say this has me a little concerned. The engine has only been running for about 1000 miles since I put it together so it's not like this is a years' worth of buildup. Now the car has not been losing oil, nor has it been burning either based on no smoke evidence and I pulled a couple plugs a few days back which looked nice and clean. So, is this normal for the Gen III's or what? I'm definatley looking for a catch-can setup now more than ever, but I still wanted to know if this is 'normal' or what.

Mine was disgustingly nasty when I pulled my stock intake to install an LS6.

Yea you know I had breezed over the catch-can stuff, but I just didn't realize how extensive the saturation of oil in the intake is with these cars, I'm amazed I don't get more knock than I do! Anyways, I'm off to Home Depot for the DIY catch-can setup tomrrow for sure.
