Insurance adjusters will only give you what your car books for in value.

you could always buy it back and sell the parts, but I know their are some places that will insure a car for more then book. I knew someone who had a VW Rabbit with like 15 K in it and book was only 1500 and he found somewhere to insure it for what he had into it

I gave USAA about $3600 in reciepts and they adjusted my totalled car value up $500 dollars. It wasnt much at all, They let me keep my wheels and tires too!!!

I m a 26 year old single male drivng a Corvette and my insurance is only $89 a month with USAA, which is a $150 difference from what I was on the Cobra ($240 per month) with Progressive. I got rid of Progressive as soon as they told me they were jacking up my rates for Hurricane loss recoperation.

I was with Progressive when my GT was rear ended and totalled. I had all the reciepts from the car and had about $7000 in it. They wouldnt let me take anything off the car and they only gave me what it was worth. I took a huge loss on that car parts wise, but got a $3000 check because the Value was that much more that what I owed.

Im only 22 and have had USAA since I was 17 and I pay $110 a month Full Coverage for my 98 Formula. When I was in NC (2005-6) I payed $570 for 6 months full coverage on my 99 Z28, that I later totalled. I dont think there rates are that bad at all. Im a happy customer!!

Yeah, I think the buy back option depends on the state the car is located in. I could have bought my Z28 back but, I would have had to take another loan on the car. If you own it It would be a better deal.

USAA is pretty cheap, way cheaper than progressive but close to geiko and state farm. I pay 1200 a year, 2 cars with full coverage on both, 24 years old with a lot of tickets.
