Default Good Deal or Not?

I'm switching to automatic and I was wondering what you guys think about a deal that was presented to me.
A guy with a 4L60E is offering an even swap.

My 6-speed is stock.
I've got a Textralia OZ700 clutch and steel flywheel. ($900.00)
Pro 5.0 Shifter. ($250.00)

He's giving me a built 4L60E.
4000 Fuddle (I've heard bad things about these verters)

So, what do you guys think about an even swap? And what do you think about that Fuddle? I've been reading a lot in this forum and I've seen some bad posts about how the Fuddle has to rev a lot for the car to get rolling.

Overall the trade sounds pretty good. I can't speak to the Fuddle convertor as I've never run one. I have a built Yank, FWIW.

Nope, this isn't Gabe's. It's Rob's.

And I just realized that I was mistaken. The auto is stock, not built.

A JR Tranny? That would be like swapping a stock bottom end LS1 for a 427!

the fuddle isnt necessarily bad, it is probably a little looser than other brands but it doesnt suck. i actually got my fuddle right when their trouble started and it is holding up fine, some people got shitty ones however.

and there are some stock 4L60es that work fine, most likely wont last as long as a built one...

not really, i bought my rock-on (cheapo) for $2281 with no converter...trans fluid and a filter will put you over $2300 and you still gotta get a decent converter and whatever conversion parts are necessary...

I've talked to alot of people about that 4ljunkie.. and the best thing you can do is to buy a brand new tranny from GM and put a shift kit in it and leave it be, putting all the expensive clutches and all that is great, but the main problem is the planataries are only good for 500 rwhp, at that point they commonly start fragging apart... so if you're planning on making more then 500 rwhp, you shouldn't even be considering a 4ljunkie, if you're gonna stay under that, then you can run them, but anythign more then 400 rwhp, and they aren't gonna last. I know there's this guy and that guy that have had them last a million miles with 90000000 hp..... but I'd tend to believe my shop who's been in the whole ls1 game from the beginning, and I can tell you where they see them fail, what fails and what stays together and what will not... and the #'s/power levels I stated above, are the truth.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I've got a lot of info here and a lot of decisions to look at. I just wish I had the cash to beef up my 6-speed to the max but I ain't $3,000. I may just wait a bit and save up for something really good.
