What trans are you going to use? Are you using a specific conversion converter? May I recommend the Meziere flexplate (FP319)? It has the LS1 (11.05" B.C.) and the SBC (10.75" B.C.) bolt pattern that many aftermarket 6-lug converters use. You can either use the stock sized M6 (IIRC) or 7/16" bolts (like TCI uses) from ARP. I would not go with a factory unit though (flexplate or hardware).

That is real, he had a long an extensive write up on here a couple of years ago. He had to make the nose and hood one piece.

didnt your new Yank come with any converter bolts? I would stick with those. and run the TCI recommended flexplate.

good point greg, it did come with bolts, but only 3.

i have a yank sc3000 for 4l80 and a 4l80 from transformance

i still have the car

how come on this tci webpage it says 399753 (speed eng link) will not fit 4l80e, but speed eng. has them right there in the 4l80 kit?

The reason why I opted for the Meziere is because of the one piece billet design. Also having comfort knowing my driver's legs will not be sheared off if the flexplate fails. It is very light wieght as well, very close to the OE wieght, yet very strong. It is not made from stamped steel and ring ring (some are made overseas), but from a michined block of aluminum here in the USA. The michining ensures the better runout tolerances and tighter teeth tolerances for a more precise fit and functioning flexplate.

As for why the TCI is listed as not fitting the 4L80E, it probably has to do with the fact that 6.0L and 4L80E had a spacer for the flexplate and converter, plus the converter uses the old SBC pattern. Beyond that, I have no idea why they would listed as such. But it will fit.

I used the stock here also. Only used 3 bolts with my Yank... Just out of curiousity what would it hurt if you drilled the other 3 holes?

Dave, I used the TCI flexplate, Vig multidisc(5) converter with only 3 bolts also. Have had 1.3x 60's and 9.4's on 250shot of juice out of the hole, with no issues. Just use a good bit of RED locktight on the converter bolts, otherwise they can back out.

i called tci about this. they said the flexplate does not have the 11.5" hole spacing for a stock 4l80 converter

it does have 3 holes for a 10.75 space of a std sbc and it has 3 holes at 11.00 for a 4l60 style converter.

so as long as my yank is at 10.75 or 11.00 it will be good. ill measure tonight
