Default G5X-1 Executive cam; Anyone running this w/o heads?

I have run into and spoken to a few members who have been running LG's G5X-1 Executive cam, and I am beginning to lean heavily towards this cam. All four of the guys running it have AFR 205 heads. Although I'd love to go that route, my budget will not allow it, so I'm planning on going cam only, or possibly adding some used LS6 heads. I was hoping someone on the forum has run this cam with stock LS1 or LS6 heads. If so, would you please post a dyno graph? Thanks.

What is the diff from the G5X1 cam vs. the G5X-1 'Executive' cam?

I believe the executive version has a 115 LSA, but other than that is similar to the regular G5X-1.

No its not the same but close to the G5X1E. The cam specs are a secret. Its made to pass emissions.

When are you getting it, Doski? Are you going cam only, or are you adding heads? I have heard a sound clip from a member on corvetteforums.com, and I was really happy with the small amount of lope to it. He's running the stock Z06 Titanium catback (which I'm also running), and it sounds pretty mild at idle.

I would love to see your dyno chart when you do the install... I plan on going this route in the spring, so I am guessing you'll have yours installed before I commit. It would be nice to see the gains w/o heads. I have seen the before/after dyno of a C6 with this cam, but of course it's a different engine.

Well i´m from sweden and i´m about to order it so it will take some time....
Do you have a link to the video? and what did the c6 dyno?

It will be a cam only car with full bolt on and 3.73 gear.

My goal is to hang with stock c5 z06

Doski, PM me for the link to the video... I don't know if the guy hosting it wants it posted on the forum. The C6 dyno sheet with that cam only is posted on LG's website. It was a 6 speed automatic. It started with 329 whp, and after LG's pro headers and the G5X-1E, it pulled out 399whp. The torque curve was very similar to stock, just pushed up about 40 ft/#'s. The spread was a little higher after 4,500rpm's, but it was still a significant improvement even down low. http://lgmotorsports.com/gallery/dis...?album=3&pos=4

I think the x1 "executive" or "g2" cam is something like .581/.572 low 220's duration on a 114 lsa and the g5 or x1 cam is .581/.581 low 220's duration on a 112 or 114 lsa.

The cam specs aren't as secret as you think, just go to the website and look. You won't get the specs for the g5x3 or g5x4. Sorry....

The G5X1E is not the G2 cam. It's a variation of the G5X1 cam (228/232)with a 115LSA, instead of 112 or 114. I called LG, and they will not give the specs on the cam. I don't know if the durations are the same or not...
If you have info showing the specs on the G5X1E, I would love to see it; LG won't tell me anything other than the fact that it's "around .600 lift". I know it's 115 LSA because a corvetteforum member has been so kind as to make me a video clip. I guess I should ask him if he has a cam card...

Actually I could tell you the specs on both of those cams. The info is all over this board and has been posted numerous times. I found it just by searching.

The only numbers I have seen are 228/232 with 581/574 on a 115LSA. That was posted by an individual on this forum, and although I have no reason to doubt him, I'm not sure where he got the info. It's probably right, but who knows?

Thanks for correcting me. I looked at the website after my post, and see my error. You said around .600 lift, hmmmmm the x3 is .600/.610 I can't see the x1E being anymore then .588 on the intake side, with less duration then the x3 obviously.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I called LG to ask what springs they recommend, and they told me Comp 924's, which are double springs, due to the lift. I asked what the lift was, and they said they didn't give that information out. I then asked if it was under .600, and he would only say "it's right around there". I am hoping PRC Gold springs will work instead of 924's.
