Default Viper Tranny for GM/conversion

Ok, I dont know where to start so Im going to throw this out there and hope someone knows what I'mtalking about and some info please. I dont talk to my friend much since he moved or I would ask him.

Anyways, a friend of mine has a 71 Nova w/a 454 and a 6speed viper tranny. I guess there is a company, or this is a kit or something that allows it to be compatible with a gm car. Im just wondering if any of you know anything about it, cost, exactly what tranny it is, how much power it could handle, if it is from the 1st or 2nd gen vipers etc.. Any info is welcomed until I can contact my friend. Another friend a little familiar with it said it cost somewhere around $2300. Currently I have a built th400 which is nice and all, but for cruising around and better gas mileage, plus the fun manual/shifting aspect of it, Im looking into the idea of a similar 6speed setup.

For a viper transmission you can use anything from 94-02 with a 2 piece cluster shaft. You would have to cut the pilot bearing down to the ls1/sbc. the viper has a 31 spline output shaft but most transmissions come with the yoke. The viper transmisison we sell for $2395 plus shipping and includes the correct pilot bearing and transmission yoke. You friend was close on pricing. Other than that it is pretty simple. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Amber

I say they are rated to 750rwhp but I have seen guys make more than that. It usually does not last as long but it has been done.

Thanks,
Amber
