Default damn window motors!!!

i know everyone on this website hates the window motors in their fbods (unless you've replaced them). my stupid question is, are there any other motors that you can replace them with besides the local auto parts store cheap ones + dealer ones. i'd like to put a motor in there that doesnt struggle to put my window up from day 1

Unless they are burned out or otherwise damaged internally they can be fixed. I took mine apart, cleaned and greased the gearing. Cleaned the commutator and brushes. I modified the thermal strip and soldered it solid. I lubed the gears and tracks in the door. The window (driver's side) works like new.

I'm trying to figure out a way to up the power to the motors. They are a simple DC motor so more power = more speed. They will wear out faster but, I'll spend $20 every two years if my windows are faster.

What is this volt fix you're talking about?

well the driver side u can take the motor about and theres a skinny piece of metal all u do is solder some more metal on it so it gets more power.. i believe thats how it works id search again before i did it.. also autotrix or whatever has a $29.99 kit that will make your passenger window work fast as hell hooked directly under the hood i believe or something close to it

Never heard of that before. I've heard of the autotrix one . I'm going to do that myself. Thanks for the info. I'll search and see what comes up.

Searched "thermal strip" and didn't see anything. If you could remember how you searched and let me know I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.
