Default 422 stroker

Why don't you hear of more people building 422's. Is there clearance problems inside the block or something thats makes them less practicle to build than a
408?????

You don't hear much about them because of the long stroke. Many people are scared of the long stroke and reliability issues. Piston rocking in bores, pulling the piston too far down, and just burning oil in general. I think with the technology out now head wise they can make some major power and if built correctly should have none of the before mentioned problems. It's in fact the next engine I plan to build after I finish my current setup.

Correct, although I plan to use an iron block personally.
