Default Methanol

I am about to do another round mods to the car and was wondering what your guys opinion would be on whether I should add a meth kit.

Car is 00 Vette
A&A Procharger 4.1 pulley (9psi)
42# injectors
6 liter heads (will be added)
G5XB (will be added)
LT's

Would I be better off using the meth instead of using the 6 liter heads? because it wouldn't break my heart to not have to pull the heads.

Is your motor at MBT? Are you on the stock bottom end?

I have stock bottom end and will not be building an engine until something happens to this one.

Then more boost is out of the question [Stock bottom end]. You'd only gain from the timing advance, if it's not at MBT. I dont think you'd see much of a power gain, but it'll give you the extra peace of mind that your motor is more resistent to detonation.

Also here is a little info: http://www.modularfords.com/forums/2...hol-71048.html
I dont have any solid dyno's of my car on vs off alky, but on 9psi it threw down 540rwhp and 543rwtq with alky.

I had actually been considering pulleying down to a 3.85 pulley considering the cam swap and the 6 liter heads.

Do you think I would be better off just leaving the stock LS1 heads on it? How much hp difference will I honestly see with them? I mean I already have them but could sale them and from that and what I save on head gaskets and head bolts could buy my Alky Control kit.

Mean Brake Torque, Basicly the point were adding more timing will not net any additional Hp.

I'm not sure of the compression ratio drop you'd see in swaping heads. But with the stock bottom end on a LS1-6 motor I'd be careful with boost. The stock pistons cant take very much detonation and if the alky failed it could hurl your car in to a detonating ramp page and possible cost you your motor.
Some people run it for a safety net of cooling and oct. other will run it for additional boost they can run with it. I'm not saying you can't add boost with the alky, I'm just leting you know that the pumps and controler do fail and that it's a dangerous gamble. I've personal had mine fail twice.

That's a very good question...Also is there any type of warning light that comes on if you're not spraying or if you're seeing knock??

Snow performance, I've got a light that indicates when it's spraying as far as knock goes 03-04 cobra dont have knock sensors. They do have some type of new fail safe system. Linky..http://www.snowperformance.net/prodd...p?prod=SI%2D05

Snow Performances fale safe sends a signal to something that bleeds off boost, or you can have it go to something else.

It also can be set up with an LED that lets you know that the meth is not flowing how it should.

I plan on getting a kit for my car in about a month or so. It would be a good choice if you are looking to run more boost, although I have to agree with the others here that are telling you that you are pretty much at your limit for boost with your stock bottom end. If you plan on getting a new bottom end, and don't care, I would run the meth, and up the boost until it goes BOOM. Then after the rebuild, you can have a bottom end that will support the boost and added power.

Bro-your car and my car is very similar. Call up Julio/ECS and order up the meth kit-put on the 3.85 pulley and your solidly in the 10's. If you drop on the 6 litre heads you CR will drop down too low-down to 9.5-that just kills torque. With the P1SC keep the stock heads and pulley down to a 3.85 but just use meth-you must use meth. Order up HP and a wideband and log your runs-boost, meth turn on points etc. Bro your so close! If you really want to go fast i can hook you up with a F1R

OK I have sold the heads. Now should I add pulley and meth or just a meth?

Thanks
