Value of a 1998 TA
I have a 1998 Pontiac TA and looking to sell this year. I have looked at KBB and the car looks to be worth ~8,100 in stock form. Now, I have done some mods to it and I know those usually don't add value to the car. Of course, to the right person it might add value. What do you think it worth?????
Biggest Mods:
GM WS6 Hood and WS6 17" Wheels
Strange 12 Bolt with 3.73's, Eaton Differential and 33 spline axles
Lignenfelter 3.5" Driveshaft
Yank SS4000/2.60 Torque Converter
Futral F10 Cam with valvetrain upgrades
1K in stereo equpiment with most of it custom made
HP Tuners Suite (including cable) that will go with the car
Innovate Wideband Sensor with XD-1 Gauge
Various suspension upgrades like Bilstein shocks, LCA's, APHR, Torque Arm, STB, Boxed SFC's.....
Or would it be beter to revert back to stock or as close to possible. Looking a 2008 Vette 6.2L

The car has 104K miles on it and was built 08/97. The rearend has less than 10K miles on it. The cam and TC have less than 20K miles. Oh, I forgot about the QTP Longtube Headers/Catted Y-Pipe that have ~20K miles as well. Of course the car has cheaper things like ASP U/D Crank Pulley, Magnaflow Catback, Window Tint, LS6 Intake, Direct Flo Airbox, BGRA, etc.

A dealership wont want the car. Sell it to a private buyer looking for a pre-built but streetable TA.

I would guess dealerships would give less than 8K for the car. Mods do not count. Dealerships were out of the question since the car was modified and could potentially be hard to sell. I was figuring on 10K for a fair price. That would be 10K torwards the Vette

Dealerships normally whole-sale auction anything with 100K+ on it after setting it on the back of the lot for about 2 weeks or until the next auction. The fact that the car is heavily modded is just another strike against it. They would probably offer 5500 MAYBE. For comparison we gave around 6000 for a 98 Z28 auto in pretty good shape (110K miles) with a weld-in muffler only. It sat on the corner of the lot almost until auction time when some guy picked it up a few days prior.
A big stall and a cam are no-no's for trade-in value, also, the dealership would not want to put an inspection sticker on it due to NO emissions equipment, that could bite them in the *** HARD! All around the car will NOT appeal to a car dealership. Like said, autotrader it
