How modified are we talking? The easiest thing would be to get an appraisal on the car then take out a GAP insurance extra the extra value if anything were to happen to the car.

I already have gap, that only covers what you have left on the lein. I just don't want to start a build and my insurance come up to say, "Oh, We won't cover those turbo's!"

Just call your current insurance company. You can get extra insurance that will cover modifications. You can get a certain coverage amount like they will cover $3000 worth or whatever and it's so much extra each month. I know Esurance does. I'm not sure how simple it is to make a claim involving it but they do cover if you pay for it.
I'm sure most would if you're willing to pay for it.

I do not use Esurance but I did an online quote and there was an option for extra coverage on a vehicle for aftermarket modifications. I would just do an online quote and then give them a call.
