Now this is a great candidate for an LS1 swap. The engines are complete crap but they are pretty solid and drive really well and are great offroad and the snow. You probably could pick one up really cheap as most of those old buick derived alloy V8 motors are done already. You 'd just have to do a coil spring conversion as well as the air suspension is probably shot also.

I want to put an LS1 in mine (maybe...)

The EAS is rebuildable, no need to castrate a good RR...

I just heard back from them next day (my 2nd email). They're finalizing details on the kit, they did it all in-house before.

I picked up a s/c for the 4.0, I'm going to play with that till I blow the stock engine, then put an ls-1 in...

the stock 4.0 puts out 190hp, with the blower I'm guessing 250-275 depending on tune, a stock ls1 will knock the pants off of that

I think I might swap the transmission as well, I don't know if the stock 4 speed will handle it, and it'll be nice to have a 6 spd..

I am thinking of doing an LS1 swap into my Disco II. I am just not sure how much work there is to get the LS1 to communicate with the ABS computer. I would rather use a GM transmission instead of the ZF transmission.

by the ls1-power site, they use the original GEMS ECU, so you shouldn't have to worry about the ABS computer..
