LS1 to LT1 taillights
And yes I did some searches first, but didn't find anything about the wiring harness. Other than some fitment issues with the bulb sockets do I have to do anything special? Can I use my existing wiring harness? Just wondering if it's a plug and go or if I have to do any modifications. Thanks for the help.

I am not a fan of the LS1 lights and swapped out for a set of '94 or '95 lights about two years ago. I like the look much more and would never go back. A simple trim on the housings was all it took to get the bulbs in (rampant corner). I think I installed the bulbs upside down to make intall easier and less trimming if memory serves correct. I like the look of my '94 Z's rear and really love the power of the LS1 so it all works! Besides when people 'in the know' come up on what they think is a older Camaro they are shocked to see the new front clip.

I wired mine up differnt so the turnsignal bulbs stay on low filament, like the LT1's do. I just bought a GM socket at the store and took 2 of the wires out. Then i put them into the empty slot on the current turnsignal sockets and then tapped into the low filament wire on the main tail light socket.
Looks alot better with the whole light lit up rather than just the outside corners.

No pics, but disconnect battery and unbolt the taillights. On the turn signal bulb housing there are two wires and a green plug in the middle hole I believe, take out the plug, put a piece of wire into the slot and shove the plug back in it, then splice the other end of said wire into the brown wire on the brake/tail housing bulb. Reconnect battery and turn on lights. Done.

I got a couple pics here. You can see how i tapped into the middle wire with the scotch lock and ran that to the middle of the turnsignal bulb socket which is empty. That way it powers the turnsignal bulb on low filament so it comes on with the lights on low, then still blinks bright. Let me know if you don't understand it.
