Question LS2 (Corvette or CTS-V) Oilpan dimensions in and out

Hi i need to know the dimensions of the LS2 Factory OIL pan on the outside. And at least a good shematic of the inside baffle structure if the stock part won't fit and I'm forced do built a (technical) replica.

I take it future conversions of others will profit from this information to!

From SPDC:
ls2 c6 oil pan from spdc:
**Sump is 4 3/4" to the top of the pan rail.
**Sump length 13"

Full pan length should be the same as every other pan, so 21.5"
Which would make the front of the pan to the sump 8.5" long

In my search for info on the pan I also found this:
Keep in mind that if you're going with LS1/LS6 short block you reuse the oil pickup tube and have to transfer over the oil level sending unit and cover. The cover is the piece that bolts to the pan by the oil filter and holds the temp sender. You will also have to purchase a new dipstick and tube.

Hope this helps.

Thank you!

I think cutting of 1.5" (length) x 2.0" (or less) will work. That means I'll loose about 0.3 (of 5.5) quarts. The Low Oil Level Sensor is around 2,5 quarts. My HP (on the crank) limit is set to around 425HP.
You guys think there will be a problem with that?

5.2 Quarts are close to 5.0 Litres. Thats a standart canister of new engine oil. The Pan is designed to provide better oil control under the extreme demands of high-rpm/high g-force driving maneuvers. Sounds nice to me.

Any pics of the pickuptube in case its "Mouth" extends into these 1.5 inches?

I'm afraid it will be hard to find a used one. on the other hand it will be two years until i can start the conversion.

BTW. its supposed to go into a 3rd Gen F-Body

Just curious, won't the stock F-Body pan fit your application, or are you just looking for a better design?

I am also doing a ls2 into a thirdgen and by looking at pictures of how close the camaro pan is to the stock k-member I don't think the c6 pan will fit. The camaro pan has a 11 3/4" long sump and the c6 pan has a 13 1/2" long sump measuring from the back of the pan. The CTS pan might fit. I have both of the c6 and camaro ls1 pans at home. I have found dimensions for the pans on street & performance website.

I have a CTS-v oil pan in front of me, so I measured it for you.

I am pulling a f-body LS1 pan today, so I can get compare pics.

I am pretty sure a CTS-V pan will need modified as well. I don't think the sump is far back enough.
