Default 20'' of vacuum?

i just hooked up my boost/vacuume gauge on my 408 d1sc and at idle it has about 20'' of vacuum.... does that sound right to you guys?

20'' is right for a motor with a stockish cam. I rarely see that in a motor with a cam in it, unless the cam is small or the idle is turned up to the point the car doesnt lope much.

im at 19 or so with a small cam

15 at idle small cam and 25-26 at cruise...

This might sound rather dumb, but where are you guys buying these guages and where are you hooking them into to check Vaccum?????
I wouldn't mind checking mine, lol

boost guage should show vaccum for you. It will be a negative number.

That is damn good vacuum for that cam... bet it idles nice

I have 9# of vac at idle with 7# procharger ,stock cam.

it has no lope at all.... it idles at about 900rpm though....i'm working on getting it down to 750-800rpms once i get my new exhaust put on and it warms up a bit...
