SES Light, car "jumps" while starting

SES Light, car "jumps" while starting Hello gents,
I've tried to search for this issue, but I haven't found any threads for it yet, so if you know of one that I've missed that covers this issue please direct me there.
The issue I'm having is that I recently took my car (1999 A4 Trans-Am) to a mechanic to have the serpentine belt changed. After the belt was changed, the car "jumps" forwards when I start the car, and an SES light remains on the entire time that the car is in operation.
Any clues or ideas guys? I'm going to call the shop tommorow, but I'd like to know what the great minds at LS1 tech believe it could be.
