Default Looking at this local 69 camaro for LS1 swap, whats it worth?

Theres a local 69 RS camaro project that I can pick up and im trying to figure out what its really worth. Whats the most I should pay to get an ok deal on this car?

It is a factory RS 327 auto car. It comes with no interior, glass, trim, headlights/grill or anything up front. (It does come with paint matched factory hood)

The car just came out of the paint shop recently and they put new quarters in it and the body looks dead straight to me. I dont see any need for any body work etc even though im not a huge fan of the paint color and would probably have it repainted a different color.

It has a stock 10-bolt in it and all the front suspension is in and its a roller.

I dont want to pay top dollar for it, so I would say whats the avg going rate right now for a car in this condition? (like what would it sell on ebay for etc)

Whats he asking? I'd say 5-6k, if your not in a hurry look around. here in the rust belt there is pretty much nothing to choose from. The local auto trader might have one or two a week. Good luck

What you are looking at there is essentially a body shell, you will have to redo everything else. The guy I bought my engine and trans from was also selling a 68 Camaro in similar condition, but pre paint for $3500. His at least had most of the interior parts and glass, except for the windshield. Given that you don't care for the paint color you would have to repaint it. With your location in SoCal, I would think you could find some decent cars to chose from. Make your offer and see if he bites.

I guess most of it, is im not asking whats a dirt cheap deal price, but what is the going price of this car you think??? Say if I get it and I decide its too much project, whats the resell/ebay value going to be?

I appreciate the input so far at people suggesting 5-6k. Do you guys think its a 6-8k car on ebay? or a 4-6k car? I just want to make sure if I buy it I know what I can get out of it for if I sit on it awhile and decide to not build it.

Hes asking alot so im not sure what the most I should pay is

I would say between 4-6K if he goes for it. Good thing is that the sheetmetal on these cars is cheap. Plus redoing the firewall is not to big of a deal. I paid more then that for the POS we started with plus all new metal. I think this car would be a good starting point. Good Luck!

I'd say 4k for a full roller, decent shape. 5k if it's been dipped or blasted and is rust free, and the paint's OK.

I'd jump on that, I was looking at a friends 69 6cyl, 3spd, rusted out FL car, needs everything except a dash panel and rails, she told a friend of mine, he works on her cars, some people have been coming into her business offering her 3 and 3500 for the car, and I'm telling you it needs everything! so get it !

For $4300 that is definatley a good deal. I would like to know the body/metal condition under that fresh paint. Be careful, hopefully it's not bondo'd over some poor rust repair.

Thanks everyone! I will post pics as it progresses over the next several months

Well I think you've done good for that price. I'm not a fan of the two tone myself. If you need some LS1 headers I have a set for sale: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/636898-fs-ls1-s-p-headers-ats-t56-x-member-1st-gen-camaro-firebird.html
