Default Buying a totalled camaro or corvette for an ls1

hey all whats up? I don't own a f-body right now but have been wanting to buy one alot. I am looking at buying a 2002 Z28 camaro for its engine, then putting the engine in a roller or high mileage car. the engine has 72,xxx miles and auto trans =[. so basicly i was wondering if it looks like it has been damaged at all in the crash? and how much would u pay for it? i will probably take the engine and part out the rest.

EDIT: I also found this 2001 vette that i am interested in. what engine does it have? will it fit in the 98-02 camaro's/ firebirds? do you think the engine is damaged? and how much would u pay for the whole car?? thanx for the help

that looks like a pretty hard hit, i'd make sure it runs before you buy it. i think for the miles and for the engine/tanny and all the wiring like around 3k

I think the vette just has better intake/' exhaust, but I am sure there is a good chance I wil be corrected.

That is the ZO6 Vette. Rated @ 405hp. Nonetheless, I'd go for the engine out of the vette just because it wasn't wrecked in the front. Just my .02

I say go with the vette if you can get it. Although it will prolly be pricey. The vette has an LS6 in it. As already stated it is rated at 405 hp.
It is the same size as an LS1 but it has better heads, cam, etc.
Although if you get the vette engine, you will need to get a trans out of a different car.

Yeah go with the vette. The front clip still looks kind of good it could be sold and repainted.

Why bother wasting all that time? My 140K engine runs as good as a 72K engine and I'd bet money on it. Just buy a higher mileage complete car and be done with it.

No if the vette is the 2001 Z06 then its the 385HP not the 405hp that didnt come til 2002 and up. Anyways i would still go for the vette LOL.

My original thoughts as well...seems alot more time efficient to just buy a complete F-body

u are sure its a Z06?? and yes it is kind of weird that the pics say 2004 at the bottom but the car is still sitting in the lot??? and if i could get the vette and drop the engin in a high mileage car it would probably cost me less $$ and me faster.. hopefully
