Default 1LE Transmission Mount Availability

Well I have been having the typical poly transmission mount vibrations and really don't like them at all. I have removed the preload plate without grinding the bumps down and that definetley took away the vibration but allowed my mount to flex to much under hard acceleration causing the car to hitch. I am considering returning to stock but I am very interested in the 1LE mount. Is it still available any more? If so, where can I get one?

I had the same problem with poly mounts on my car, went to GM and paid for the 1le part (make sure you get the number and take it to them) and had no more vibration, yet still strong. Great mount.

Thanks man. You really just can't beat the stock feel when it comes to that in my opinion. I have no doubt that the ES mount has incredible strength, they just need to make it more for a DD. Can anybody hook me up with that part number PLEASE!!!

22201140 I think is the part number...call your local dealer and make sure. I think I paid like 54 bucks with a discount...GM likes their mount!

The T/A bushing wasn't that bad. You just have to drill out the rivets and I went ahead an cut off the overlapping piece that got in the way of closing the brackets to.

22201140, I got this mount and had bad luck, 1st of all, the bolt is smaller in diameter than stock and for this reason, the bolt got loose and I had problems, I later found out that this was not the correct mount, did search and came up with another number(can't remember) verified this number through the dealer. I know Cartek recommends 1LE mount and this was the number I got through them and the dealer carries it, but I got mine from gm parts.

22201140 is for a 93 to 97... why your bolt hole doesn't line up.... the original 1le part number was 22146231 but has be discontinuted... but GM has upgraded the standard mount to 1le and uses the standard part number...22174970 <---- so moving foward this is your 1le part number

Can anyone verify if that is the correct mount for a 98 Z28? And is it really of "1LE strength" or just the same part that I am taking out?

You make get a mixed response. I recommend the poly mount when you have power like yours. I've seen guys locally still break the 1LE mount...although its better, in the long run, it still won't take the power.

Woops....hmm..well...I ordered the one with the above mentioned part number today...lets just say my dealer was really proud of that thing... 104.95 plus tax!!! Gulp!

It would have been kinda embarrassing to bail out of ordering after all the looking around I made the guy do....oh well...lets hope this thing is any better.

I have just read too many conflicting things about the poly mounts....with plate, without plate, cut the stubbies off, and even more vibration....so I figured I'd go with the 1LE. I am no drag racer, as funny as this may sound, but I did all the mods just so the car sounds better, so for me, maybe it will hold up. I am driving the car more careful now anyhow because of the 4.10s I just put in.
