New Camaro Owner!!
Hey everyone,
Well I have been a member here for a few years now and I was driving a 99 Arctic white T/A 6spd. I had the car listed for sale on here and also on Autotrader the past month an a half or so, well the car sold this past weekend.
Here is a picture of my now Old T/A:
Well The guy that bought it from me happend to have a 96 Z28 6spd with 54k miles on it that he ended up trading me plus cash so I now own a 96 Z28 and am DEBT FREE!
Here are a few pics, I will get some more soon, but I took two of these the day of the sale, and then one of them is a picture the previous owner had of the car.
Some info on the car:
-SS spoiler
-Chrome SS ZR1 wheels 17x9.5
-SLP bolt in Subframe connectors (powdercoated black)
-BMR Strut Tower Brace (black)
-Ground Control coil over kit for the front with adjustable spring perches and matching springs for the rear, revalved (by Ground Control) Bilstein HD shocks all the way around
-Hotchkis Panhard bar
-A power steering cooler
-Track Time Motorsports front brake kit (Wilwood 4 piston calipers, 12.2x1.25 two-piece rotors, braided lines, etc.)
-March underdrive pulley
-AirFoil for the throttle body
-Hypertech 160* Thermostat
-MSD coil
-Throttle Body coolant passage bypassed
-Moroso Cold Air Intake kit with K&N filter
-Borla cat back (I love the sound of this Borla so much on the LT1 compared to on my T/A)
-Richmond 3.73 gearset
-McLeod single disc HD clutch
-Hurst Billet Plus shifter and leather ****
-SLP floormats
The car is also fully loaded, with Leather, Bose, T-Tops etc..
The guy was a great guy to do a sale/trade with and everything went so smooth because we both knew so much about these cars already that from the time we arrived to the time we looked the cars over, signed titles, and left it only took an hour.
We both ended up getting great cars and are both 100% happy with this outcome. He has told me he is currently looking for a set of the older style WS6 wheels and is putting the same suspension setup on the T/A as he had on this Camaro, so the car should look SICK when he is done with those two things.
So far I have a few things I would like to eventually do to the car such as 35% tint all around like I had on my T/A, I am thinking of clear corners, and maybe even a silver metalic or chrome hockey stripes or Dick Harrel (sp?) stripes on the side. None of this will be done until the end of summer as I am leaving the country in a month and won't be back until July. I love the car as it is, but if I ever do anything to it, those are the things I plan to do.
Just thought I would share the new ride with everyone!!

Ya, it was hard to part with the T/A, but I needed to sell and get out of debt. My original intentions were to sell the T/A and then get a 98-00 Grand Prix GT 4 door for about $6-7k. But this offer came along and I came out with a new car in the same day, and close to the amount of cash I was wanting to have after the sale of my car, plus the purchase of a different one. So I am VERY happy, and I got very lucky in finding such a nice ride to replace my T/A with.
For an LT1 this car really impresses me. I had a 94 Z28 A4 3.23 car and this car by far is much quicker. The 3.73's with the 6 speed really get this car off the line, and this car handles amazing with all the suspension work and brakes like a dream with the wilwood brake kit on it.
The only downfall to me is the car is black, although black looks amazing when clean, it sucks to keep clean and every swirl/flaw in the paint shows, so it is going to be quite a change from my white car.
The car definately would hang with my LS1 for a good amount of time, but it still lacks the top-end the LS1 had, but the way I look at it is, this LT1 is MUCH damn better than a grand prix GT sedan!

well im sure glad you finally came to a decision and didnt leave the f-body world for a GTP like you intended. good for you and have fun in college and abroad debt free! im sure everyone on here will be glad to know you made the right decison. especially when we was trying to convince you to stay in the f-body world. so im g uessing the LT1 is releiable? and sensiable? i hope so because that was your main argument against an LT1 car! lol j/p congrats./

yes this car is looking to be a great vehicle to have. There were a few more mods than I like done to a car when I buy one, but none of them effect reliability and driveability really. Even with the 3.73 gears I am still avg. about 23mpg with the car so I am pleased with that. And I am now glad I did end up with another f-body and not a Grand Prix, as I am having a blast with this car, and can't wait until I get back this summer and get to enjoy it!

As far as looks, I think the LT1 camaros look awesome and the LS1 T/A's look awesome.
The T/A was a much better overall car and looks so much more badass, but what can I do, I had to sell the car and had no choice and this is what I ended up with....
As for LS1>LT1, I totally agree, and miss how smooth the powerband was in the LS1, and how it pulled like a train up top. I made a video clip a few weeks back of a 0-100 run inside the car, so I think I am gonna go out today and do the same in the Camaro and then I will put both of them up so everyone can see the difference.
The debt free is nice tho, because everytime I look at my car I don't think "because of you I have NO money" Instead now when I look at my car I think "because of you I now HAVE money" lol.
