Default Shifter boot?

Hopped in my car and felt cold air coming from the stick area. Got home and looked it over. Looks like the plastic piece that holds boot in place somehow broke? Do I need to look into buying a new whole boot or just the plastic part? Wheres my best bet in finding the part? Stealership?

Thanks,

Kyle

I had the same thing happen. Unfortunately I had to order a whole new piece (plastic part and boot). I paid $40.26 (includes shipping) at www.parts4chevys.com (I'm allowed to post this info? I'm sure I'll get a slap on the wrist if I'm not). I called a few junkyards with no luck.
I just realized you have a Pontiac, never mind then. Online purchase would you your best option.

You could also email Farmer2 on here. He was (is still?) selling a stainless wire boot clip replacement for $18.00 shipped. This will not break again like a plastic one will.

Is Farmer2 his username? Do I reuse the boot on the stainless wire boot clip?

Thanks,

Kyle

Nevermind. I found his post on these clips. Thanks a lot guys! Saved me money and I'm getting a better quality product!

Kyle

I hope he still makes them. I see the topic has been closed.

Wow! I just got on here to post about the very same thing. Looks like I'll be doing a search on Farmer2. Hope he has at least two in stock!
