Question Should i leave exhaust tips on for the law?

I wil have an true dual x-pipe setup(dumped) installed and was wondering if i should leave my tips on as dummy tips or just take them off?

I know Camaro's look better without tips but i dont feel like getting pulled over.

TIA

I would never move away from CA. I will have LT's, ORX, dynomax bullets, dumped. If i dont give them a reason to bother me i should be ok.

get stock tips, and use the existing hangers to hold the tips in place.

They do? Maybe to you. A nice set of tips always looks good to me.

Not a good idea. You'll get made fun of all the time for being a poser.

maybe if you were a v6, you'd get joked. but if you put up fake tips b/c you have LTs and an x pipe, i think it's okay. i have the same setup and may have to do the same thing since i live in VA. VA is a close second place for states with gay laws.

Put you a 6 cylinder exaust pipe on it. Then it would be a sleeper.

I would just take them off, if a cop cares enough to write you up for it will will take the time to realize their fake and that your exhaust is dumped

Speaking on behalf of the Cali law enforcement community I have never heard of a law here that says you have to have tips. Cops don't go around looking for cars without exhaust tips. Some states have laws that mandate your exhaust exiting AFTER the gas tank which is why dumps aren't allowed. If anything, they will hear you coming a mile away and you may get a noise ticket. But no, they will not ticket you for not having tail pipes. Dump 'em and rock on!

This is what I thought as well. If you are that LOUD, which you could be, they are gonna stop you even with a V-6 looking tailpipe setup!!

I really can't imagine getting pulled over for not having visible exhaust tips.

Most new cars have relatively concealed exhaust systems, so you only seen the edge of the tip under the bumper anyway.

That would be a ridiculous thing to get a ticket for.

Camaros look ALOT better without tips IMO! I wish my WS6 had a smooth line to the bottom of the bumper, I have single chambers under the car and it took a little getting use to with no tips in the valance. I have thought about putting tips there to fill in the space, but I would never attach them to my exhaust, it sounds too good as is.
